If you no longer wish to use Waste Docket, you can permanently delete your account and the personal data linked to it directly from the mobile app. The steps below explain how to do this and what happens to your data afterwards.

How to delete your account in the Waste Docket mobile app

1. Open the Waste Docket app and sign in to your account.
2. Tap the Profile tab from the bottom navigation bar.
3. Scroll down and tap Delete Account.
4. Read the on-screen confirmation describing what will be removed.
5. Tap Confirm to permanently delete your account.

Once confirmed, your account is closed immediately and you will be signed out of the app on all devices.

What data is deleted

When you delete your account, the following information is removed from our systems:

• Your name, email, phone number and other personal profile details.
• Your signed-in sessions and authentication tokens.
• App preferences, notification settings and saved signatures.
• Any personal photos or signatures you uploaded that are not part of a finalised waste docket.

What data is retained

Waste Docket operates under Irish and EU waste-management law. To meet those legal obligations and to preserve the integrity of records that other parties depend on, a limited set of information may be retained after your account is closed:

• Waste dockets, Article 27 dockets and related compliance records you created or signed remain on the business or fleet account they belong to (these are not yours to delete — they are statutory records owned by the business/fleet).
• Anonymised audit logs that record the existence of past actions, with personal identifiers removed.
• Records we are required to keep by law (for example, financial records, regulatory compliance evidence) for the period prescribed by the relevant legislation.

Timeline

Account closure is immediate. Removal of personal data from active systems is completed within 30 days. Encrypted backups containing your data are cycled out within 90 days as part of our standard backup rotation.

Can't access the mobile app?

If you cannot sign in to delete your account from within the app, email us at privacy@wastedocket.ie from the email address you used to register. Include your full name and account email so we can verify the request, and we will process the deletion within the same 30-day window.
